The receipt becomes a journal entry.

A Counter sale is an ordinary invoice. Toko Sinar’s prices include 11% VAT, so output VAT is split from revenue, and COGS is recorded at average cost. Nothing is left to tally tonight.

Stock goes down and white bread is flagged low.

The receipt takes iced coffee from 24 to 22 and white bread from 9 to 8. White bread is already below its reorder point, so the Stock page flags it as low, and an order to CV Sumber Pangan can be started from there.

The cash is counted and the difference recorded.

At the end of the shift, Ayu presses Close drawer. Tumra shows what should be in the drawer, Ayu counts IDR 1,495,000, and the IDR 5,000 shortfall is saved as it is in Shift History. QRIS payments are not counted as drawer cash.

FAQ

Common questions

Can the till be used offline?

Not yet. The till runs in the browser and needs an internet connection when you press Pay. If the connection drops mid-sale, pressing Pay again carries on with the same sale, so the goods and the money aren’t recorded twice.

What devices and printers do I need?

A computer, laptop, or tablet with a browser. A barcode scanner that types the code and then Enter works straight away. Receipts print through the browser’s print dialog to a 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer. Camera scanning and cash drawers that open automatically aren’t supported yet.

Who can use the till?

The owner, admins, finance, and the Cashier role. Cashiers see sale prices, stock at the selling location, and customers, but not buy prices, profit, or the books. Each cashier uses one user account from the plan’s quota. Extra users can be bought; on Retail Starter, up to 3 users in total. Retail Free is for one user, so the owner runs the till. Retail Free is for one user, so the owner runs the till.

Does the till calculate VAT?

Yes, if your business turns on “Selling prices include tax” in Settings → Tax. VAT is separated from the total and printed on the receipt as Includes VAT. Prices that exclude VAT aren’t supported at the till yet: VAT isn’t added on top of the price.
