The workshop problem

Bikes in and out all day, and only the mechanic remembers their history.

A workshop sells labour and parts together, pays its mechanics commission, and customers only come back when reminded. Without a record per vehicle, all of that runs on memory.

  1. 01No idea when this bike was last serviced or what was replaced.

Vehicles are saved under each customer with their plate number. Every visit goes into the vehicle's history, mileage included.

    Step 01
  2. 02Parts get used, but stock doesn't go down.

Parts on a vehicle's bill come off stock when the bill is paid.

    Step 03
  3. 03Mechanic commission is worked out from paper bills.

Every job is recorded under its mechanic, and the Staff report works out the commission.

    Step 04
  4. 04Customers forget their regular service and go elsewhere.

The dashboard shows vehicles that are 4 months past their last service, with the owner's name and phone number.

FAQ

Common questions, honest answers.

We answer straight, including the things Tumra can't do yet.

A good fit if

  • You sell labour and parts on one bill
  • You want service history per vehicle

Not a fit yet if

  • You need printed job cards with step-by-step work status
  • You need cost estimates the customer approves before work starts
Ask by email or the contact form[email protected]
01Is there a job card (SPK)?

Not as a separate document yet. The open bill in the bay works as the job record: labour and parts are added as the work goes on, and stock only goes down when the bill is paid. Job cards with step-by-step work status aren't available yet.

02Can I make a cost estimate for the customer to approve?

Not yet. Quotes the customer approves aren't part of the Services plans. What you can do: fill the bay's bill with the recommended labour and parts, then print the bill as a breakdown for the customer before the work starts.

03When is a vehicle due a service?

Four months after the last recorded visit for that vehicle, and the dashboard starts showing it a week before. It goes by date, not mileage, and the interval can't be changed per vehicle yet.

04Do mechanics need an account?

No. Mechanics are service staff: you just pick them under "Worked on by" at checkout, with no login and no user seat. Services Starter includes 5 mechanics; Services Plus and Pro have no limit.

05Does it work for car workshops?

Yes. Vehicle records are the same for bikes and cars: plate number, make, model, year, and mileage at every visit. You name your bays or lifts yourself, and each one has its own open bill.

06Can I sell parts to other workshops on credit terms?

Yes, as customer credit in that workshop's name with a credit limit per customer, or through an invoice with a due date. Tiered wholesale pricing isn't part of the Services plans; you can give special prices through a customer group discount.
